Tour de France

Saint-Lary has forged an unbreakable bond with the Tour de France over the decades. Our region’s majestic passes have become staples on the route of this great cycling race. In 2005, 2014, 2018 and most recently in 2021, Saint-Lary had the honor of welcoming the Tour riders, each time marking a memorable moment.

The year 2022 was no exception. The Tour crossed the Col d’Aspin and Hourquette d’Ancizan, with an epic stage ending at Peyragude, after crossing Saint-Lary and valiantly climbing the Col d’Azet.

And the story continues in 2024, with a climb to the legendary Pla d’Adet, evoking unforgettable memories of epic battles. That year we also celebrate the 50th anniversary of Raymond Poulidor‘s victory, a moment of emotion and pride for our region. The Tour de France is not just a race, it’s a heritage, a history, and a precious link between generations.
